Simpson Thacher is representing Silver Lake Partners (“Silver Lake”) in connection with Silver Lake’s role as the lead investor of a $500 million strategic growth investment in Social Finance, Inc. (“SoFi”), an online personal finance company. The investment round brings SoFi’s total equity funding to $1.9 billion. SoFi plans to use the funds to accelerate its expansion into new product areas and countries outside the United States.
